After a short 7 week break keeping on top of boat and Lodge maintenance it was awesome to open the Lodge and get back on the water with the above group fishing Nov 10-12th.
Justin, Tucker, Adam and Reid along with MIA Larry had a blast down here getting into sailfish, plenty of mahi-mahi and raised a blue during their 3 days on the water
Couldn’t leave Larry behind….
Triple header for the boys.
Gaff it man.
Steady fishing with plenty of opportunities for the fellas who did it all themselves, pitching to sails off the teasers and hooking ’em off the riggers, over 3 days they raised 48 sailfish releasing 20 from 40 bites and boated over 30 mahi mahi!!
Fishing Nov 13-14 we welcomed DeanO, Jim, Jeffery and Joshua to the Oasis and another couple of steady days on the water, pretty good averages too.
A bit slow on their first day though got into them their second day and ended with 13 sailfish released from 21 bites and 5 mahi in the bin.
Even a triple header from a quad.
MADDOX & CLARK
New to Marina Pez Vela the Chris Starrs owned 35′ Bertram Sea Fox debuted in Guatemala with some fine fishing. Partners on the water Linnea and Don were put on the fish Nov 13-14 and had plenty of shots.
Over their 2 days on the water they released 22 sailfish from 29 bites including releasing a blue marlin and boating 7 mahi’. Good fishing!
Ken and Joe with a MIA Eric fished Nov 15-17th
Double header, flat seas and good, steady fishing.
33 sailfish in the spread with 30 bites and 18 releases for them along with 11 mahi mahi and 1 tuna for some fresh sashimi for lunch.
Best lunch on the water
Nick and Julianne, Daniel and Michelle with Todd and Michelle had a couples trip to remember Nov 18-20. Flying in by chopper into the new helipad here in Likin it was too easy after the quick 2 1/2 hour flight from Houston and into releasing quad hook-ups here in Guatemala.
46 sailfish raised with 24 from 41 bites released over their 3 days.
As well as raising 2 blues and releasing this feisty one.
The perfect sized blue on the 30lb test for Nick
With no shortage no mahi mahi action in between billfish bites
DAVEY THANKSGIVING TRIP
In Guatemala for Thanksgiving week the Davey group took a day out to try the fishing offshore here in Guatemala.
And Capt Jono Nicholas put them on the fish for an amazing day, leaving the dock at a leisurely 8am and returning to the dock by 3 pm these guys had non-stop action on the water raising 42 sailfish and releasing 23 from 32 bites!!
This from Brad:
“It was a great day. Released 23, it could have been 30 if we knew what we were doing. Jono and the crew were great with a bunch of amateurs. Knowledgeable, funny and considerate. They even helped my father-a 77 year old double leg amputee- land a dorado. Super fun.”
With double header and triples keeping everyone on their toes….
The hot teaser for the month for the crew has been the Bonze Lures Outrageous
The crew at the Lodge have been busy and after a few weeks of work everything is ready for the up coming season.
Capt Jono and the crew aboard Allure II have been keeping their crews busy for the start of the season. The bite Jono found on their last day out really turned on with boats raising up to 67 sailfish and a few blue marlin in the mix also the next couple of days after. We’re hoping for an El Niño year similar to 2016, in which case, you do not want to miss out on what could be one of those spectacular off the wall seasons. We have limited availability on Allure II though still the odd prime dates in Dec 26th through Jan 3rd and then late March and April. We do have other top boats available to charter so contact us now:
