Fresh out the gate the Beaumont group fished the last couple of days Feb 20-21 and over their 2 days on the water released 12 sailfish from 19 bites as well as pulling the hook on a nice sized striped marlin! Couple of mahi-mahi in the mix topped off a great trip for them…

Check out this group! Stevie Laas organized husband’s Chance’s 40th birthday celebrations with us here at the Oasis with an 80’s party, a couple of days fishing a day of relaxing and a walking tour of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Antigua.

Mariachis ‘n all!

And some good fishing had the day after…

For their trip aboard the Allure II and Capt Hook for 2 days they released 41 sailfish from 78 bites, a striped marlin and several large mahi.

Couple of large sails in the mix!

For the rest of their trip, some of the girls had a spa day at the Lodge for their second day and on their 3rd day the group visited Antigua with a walking tour, an excellent lunch at Hectors  Bistro and a visit to the famous Cerveceria 14. An excellent 40th birthday celebration for Chance…..well done Stevie!

“Thank you for the most incredible trip! Truly the best hospitality in the business! See ya next year!”

In for a day of fishing aboard Tranquility, the above father and son group got into some good sailfish and mahi mahi, releasing 9 sailfish from 14 bites and boating a couple of nice mahi…

And spending the next day in Antigua watching the first Sunday processions of Lent through the 16th century Spanish Colonial City.

Great to see Bill back down here in Guatemala for his 5th trip with us, this time introducing family from the mid-west and Capt Jono put them on to some good fishing…

They fished 3 1/2 days raising 43 sailfish and releasing 19 from 35 bites along with 2 from 2 on blue marlin and 11 mahi in the boat.

I believe we’re into our 12th year running with the Super Bowl group from Corpus Christi fishing out of the Lodge and this year aboard Allure II, Sea Fox. Tranquility and Capt Hook

The second day was a little tough as the fleet ran over the fish though over all a good bite with 112 sailfish released from 209 bites as well as pulling the hook on a nice 500lb class blue marlin aboard Allure II. Plenty of mahi in the mix to keep everyone busy as well.

Working a double header…

And the Super Bowl final to finish off a large weekend.

It was super bueno to welcome back the Joe Penar hosted ‘Los Pescadores Group’ to the Oasis for the first time since 2018 where memories were still fresh from releasing 435 sailfish..

There are a couple of things you cannot control, and that’s the weather and the fishing. The group had a great time with us here at the Oasis Lodge though unfortunately the weather was on the sporty side for the duration of their stay. With the stiff ENE blowing, it was hard to get on to the fish though the crews gave it their all.

It didn’t shy away 92 year old Roger Sandstrom who was out there everyday and catching fish.

107 sailfish released among the group, a few marlin in the spread and a bunch of mahi mahi for everyone. Still not bad for what we consider tough fishing. We’re looking fwd to hosting Los Pescadores again in the future!

It was good to see Joe and Nancy back here with us, they ended up fishing 3 days raising 19 sailfish, getting 17 bites and boating 8 mahi and 1 yellowfin.

Bill Snr, Kristen and Dean

Great to welcome back Guatemalan fishing legends the Gavit Family back to the Oasis. Bill and Kristen bought Dean a much deserved trip fishing a couple of days aboard Allure II and 3 nights at the Lodge.

Over thier 2 day on the water the crew raised 33 sailfish with 13 releases from 26 bites and 6 mahi in the boat. An active couple of days out there…

Always look fwd to the Jasen Gast organized  ‘Hall of Shamers’ coming through. This year down to 2 boats, Allure II and Capt Hook and the fishing was on form!

Good to see a few new faces to the group this year and happy to see they have already secured dates for next year’s event with another boat added to the fleet!

They released 97 sailfish over their 3 days and Mark Phillips ended up with his name inscribed into the plaque this year. A good fun trip all round!

And Mark took it out on the waves their last morning before leaving….

Check out the trip highlights with this great video:

So good to see Jay Stuckey back in the house! This time bringing David back and introducing bothers Erasmo and Joshua to what we have here and the guys had a blast..

Their 3 day on the water saw good activity raising 67 sailfish getting 55 bites. Also raised 2 blues, hooking a double header sailfish / blue marlin combo with the sailfish jumping over and breaking the blue marlin off…..bugger.

Looking forward to seeing Jay back on the blue marlin hunt this summer!

Good steady fishing out there for all of January and into February. We do have some dates available in March, 4th and 5th and also 8th and 9th are available and then later on with March 25-31 wide open. Prime dates to get in on!

We’ll also be fishing the best blue marlin and XXL tuna months of May through August this year. Anyone keen on getting into some good variety of fishing with the 4 species prevalent in our waters these months be sure to reach out and contact:
