COUNTING DOWN……

Blue marlin for ALLURE on the trip down to GUATEMALA

IT’s the time of year for maintenance and that’s what we have been doing, right now ALLURE II is out of the water getting a bottom job, new non-skid on the decks and we are replacing the eisenglass curtains up on the bridge. On the new ALLURE we are getting the tackle tuned up and rigging all the terminal gear to be ready for the new season about to start. Both boats are the best in their class here in Guatemala with the best equipment and experienced crews.
Down at the OASIS Lodge there has also been plenty of activity and regulars will note several improvements. Basically we will be ready to go for mid-October, the boats and lodge will all be in perfect condition. We have the same staff at the lodge with Nick our manager returning along with Karina and Carlos. Carlos our very popular chef has completed 2 INTECAP chef courses here over the summer. This culminated in he and his team finishing 2nd overall in the National Final at the “Feria Gastronomica” at Tikal Futura in Guatemala City featuring top national and international chef’s in the judging panel!! He has also been working at one of the top restaurants here in Antigua over the last few months so he is looking forward to running the kitchen back at SAILFISH OASIS, so are we!

To the fishing. The summer months have once again produced good numbers of sailfish, dorado and blue marlin and things tend to pick up in November and December. These over the past 10 years that I have been here have generally been CONSISTENTLY some of the best months to target those big sailfish bites and of course we see our fair share of blue marlin with yellowfin tuna and dorado mixing it up. It really is a great time of year and the weather then is hard to beat also….and right now we are offering a 15% discount on advertised rates for these months, November and December. Take advantage of this deal and we’ll ensure the best time possible here in Guatemala.
Also, take advantage of our REFERRAL DEAL**. Refer us to your fishing friends and we will give you a 20% discount on our listed website rates for your next trip!! Get in contact with us for details and get into some of the best fishing on the planet.
