February 11-12th great to catch up again with Jay and Ira Stuckey introducing to Guatemala Eric and Maya Blanton. Good fishing with our first day out raising 50 sailfish and releasing 24 from 39 bites and finishing off the day with this nice bull mahi for Maya…
On the fly day 2 raising 19 sailfish and 1 blue marlin. Released 4 on the fly from 9 bites, cast the fly to the blue marlin, it didn’t eat, and then refused the pitched mackerel. Good fun couple of days on the water…

February 7-8-9-10 it was great to host the above group for their first time down to the Lodge. The Joe Penar organized group from Chicago has been fishing Central American destinations as a group now for the past 14 years. This year surpassed any trip experienced in the past 14….
Over 4 days of fishing aboard 5 boats with one of the boats dedicated to fly over the 4 days they released an amazing 435 sailfish!!!
And boated 50 big mahi’s….
That is an incredible 22 billfish releases per day per boat……
Aboard the Allure II, Captain Hook, Makina, Danmark and Sirena, the fishing just got better every day for them…

February 5th-6th good to see these guys back in Guatemala, this time introducing Mike Hanks to what we have here. A late start our first day out we went looking the east. Lots of large mahi’s…
Also found some spinners, raised a blue that stayed deep on the teaser and another right at the end of the day, neither switched to the bait….
And released 12 from 18 bites on sailfish

OCKER SUPERBOWL GROUP, 132 SAILFISH.
The Colin Ocker organized group of above has been coming down to the Oasis the past 8 years for Super Bowl weekend. This year they fished February 2-3-4.
Always a large time with these guys, this year was no exception with 164 campechana’s downed at the Lodge and 132 sailfish released fishing aboard Allure II, Captain Hook, Makina and Sails Call . Good fishing overall with plenty of large mahi’s in the mix…
And several marlin encounters including an 2 and half hour battle with a large black marlin on 30lb test that ended in heartbreak and some blue marlin bites.
A great last day out on the water with the above group with Jonathans late sons namesake ‘Jammer’ teaser red hot throughout the day, including raising 2 blues over the trip…
And an awesome Super Bowl party on Sunday night with the guys. Good times with a solid crew!!!
Fishing is good out there as of right now. We are booked solid through March and April is starting to book up. We’re predicting an excellent late season into summer here and don’t discount June-July-August for more shots at blue marlin, mahi’s, tunas and the ever present sailfish. Contact:
