FISHING THROUGH MARCH 13th

STEVE & GRETCHEN SILVERMAN

March 11-13 for their first taste of Guatemala from Connecticut Steve and Gretchen timed their trip well…..first fish of trip a feisty blue marlin for Gretchen.

And from there on in very good fishing over their 3 days, hooking all their own fish, with 37 sailfish released from 61 bites…..

And a nice bull mahi pushing the 40lb mark for Steve.

CHILDRESS FAMILY

March 8-10th for their 4th year in a row this time Chad and Gretchen from Galveston TX, brought the family to Guatemala for Spring Break to show them where all the stories come from…

After a tough first day out the bite picked up the next 2 days with 52 sailfish and a blue marlin raised for their trip….a good time to teach the kids the techniques!

That’s what it’s all about. 9yr old Ivy  and Emma releasing 4, Wyatt accounted for 7 and Emma got into the beauty above with all of them getting to pitch baits to sails off the teasers. An awesome trip all round. Some big fish in the mix !!

They finished off their trip climbing Volcan Pacaya, spending time in Antigua and then 2 days at Lake Atitlan. Great Sping Break right there….

HETZER GROUP

Tim, Conrad, Dennis, David and Mike

March 5-7 for their first time to Guatemala on their annual fishing trip, from South Carolina, a good time had by these guys….

A bit tough on the sailfish though we went wide mixing it up on the troll and  tried a bit of live baiting and ended up raising 4 blue marlin releasing 2 from 3 bites. 82yr young Conrad released the first and a team effort for the second fish…

And they released 8 from 14 bites on sailfish.

MERRICK GROUP

March 2-4th. Good to see these guys back down here, with Ned McNeely, Taylor Pruden, John Merrick and Dickey Adamson making a return from North Carolina.

Unfortunately this time around we had some tough fishing with too much of this…

Staring into an empty spread with Ned here trying to wish a fish up…… Over the 3 days the crew released 10 sailfish from 17 bites and Taylor landed this beauty 40lb bull.

Never the less, good times as usual all round with these guys.

BILL GAVIT GROUP

Bill Roberts, Bill Gavit and Kurt Strauss

March 1-2 Bill Gavit from Corpus Christi has been coming to Guatemala fishing for years, he introduced this fishery to Bill and Kurt.

And they had a blast, pitching baits to hot sailfish off the teasers releasing 14 from 26 bites aboard Allure II and Tranquility as well as Kurt boating another large bull pushing the 40lb mark

The fishing has been good these past 5 days, plenty of bait out there marked on the machine and fish spread over a large area. The water temp is right there and it’s all looking good. We have some openings in April and expect the bite to stay steady with more marlin as the season moves through into the summer months. Contact:
