FISHING THROUGH MARCH 31st

HAUSMAN GROUP

Paul Wright, Annette Hausman, Alphonse Schwenke, Lesley Cobb and Alan Farge

March 27-29th we hosted the above group for their first trip Guatemala from Freeport TX. Fishing x 2 days on Allure II and finishing up with a day on Capt Hook….

Their trip started slow though as the seas laid down the bite picked up and for the trip they raised 45 sailfish and 2 blue marlin. Good fishing!

Annette with her first sail of the trip…

And Lesley with hers….

GILLIAM GROUP

Brayden Blanton, Justin Pachta with Dan and Annie Gilliam

March 27-29 from Victoria, TX, Dan Gilliam has been coming to Guatemala for many years though this was his first time with us at Oasis and introducing daughter Annie son-in-laws Braydon and Justin.

Fishing 2 days on the Hook and finishing up their last day on Allure II, despite a slow start to the trip they also experienced some good fishing with 35 sailfish raised!

Annie and crew were hooking ’em themselves from the outset.

CHASCO GROUP

March 25-26th it was awesome to catch up with the Chasco Group again from Austin TX. Last year their group was 8, this year it grew to 12 fishing aboard Allure II, Intensity and Capt Hook.

Incredible shot from Intensity who released 2 blues their first day out.

The weather conditions were a bit tougher this year with a late unseasonal blow from the north.

But despite the conditions the group released 19 sailfish and 3 blue marlin along with boating several nice mahi’s and tunas

KROMHOLZ GROUP

March 23-24th we welcomed in Cody Foree, Taylor Kromholz, Brandon Maraldo and Steven Janak for their first time to Guate. Unfortunately the fellas hit it a bit tough for their 2 days down here, it was a classic case of  ‘you should have been here yesterday’……

With 9 sailfish raised for the trip getting 8 of them to bite….they all released sails at least!

TEAM REHAB

Jerod Wood, Jay Gagneuux, Jasen Gast, Jason Waligurh and Kent Willis

March 21-22 Always a blast catching up with this group for their annual trip to Guatemala, Team Rehab this time with Jerod and Jason hit good fishing, a bit on the rough side out there, though the bite turned on….

In x 2 days of fishing the guys had 60 sailfish in the spread with 53 bites!! An awesome trip all round with the crew finishing up also in Antigua for their last night.

Jasen Gast runs the Texas Billfish Classic out of Freeport TX and we’re looking fwd to catching up with the crew in late July early August for that!!

JOHNSON CREW

Todd and Pierce Johnson with Crawford, Sam and Reece

March 19-21 Good to see Todd and Pierce back down again, this time for their Spring Break trip.

With 74 sailfish raised and getting 70 bites as well as some tunas boated. Good times.

Sailfish feeding on the surface.

Tunas blowing up on bait.

And mahi’s…plenty of bait out there!

We tried hard to see our marlin, livebaiting and covering the drop off’s pulling the big teasers though had no luck there. We did get into the sailfish good with 85 sailfish raised and 73 bites.

Loaded up on some good sized tunas…

Some good mahi’s…

With a few multiples on sailfish out there…

And some fantastic lunches thanks to mate Enio….

Making for a most excellent trip and we’re looking fwd to seeing them back here next year.

KAUFMAN GROUP

Marwan Khuri, Dash Kaufman, Andros Khuri and Andy Kaufman

Father and son team down here for one day of fishing and one large night down at the Lodge……with Capt Mike on Intensity the next day  boys had a large time boating plenty of tunas up to 60lbs and released 8 sailfish. Great trip for Marwan and Andros down from New York and Panza Verdes Andy and Dash.

And we also hosted last minute Springbreak father and son team Steve and Joseph Streller from Houston. They had good fishing over their x 2 days with 34 sailfish released and a few mahi’s in the bin….

A little up and down though overall a very consistent March out there. We have bookings through to July 12th so we will be open for business through the end of July. The marlin bite gets going over the summer months and we have overall very good fishing for mahi mahi, tuna and sailfish as well the summertime blues. It’s a great time of year down here and there are openings through to end of July. Get down and get into some good fishing and good times. Contact:
