KAUFMAN FAMILY
Daniela, Andres, Dash and Andy
Nov 24th a day out on the water post Thanksgiving for the above family from Antigua. A little sporty out there so we pounded the waters in at the bottom of the pocket for comforts sake. Plenty of mahi action, sailfish and a blue marlin for the two 14yr old buddies who are keen as keen can get when it comes to fishing….
Good job to a couple of great anglers!!
BLOUNT FAMILY
Will, Gray, Niki and Reading Blount
Nov 20-22 Good to see Gray back down here this time with family from Greenville, NC escaping the cold for a surf/fish Thanksgiving. A surf in the mornings before heading offshore and the day after Thanksgiving a trip to El Paredon for some great beach break….
Will paddling into some El Punto waves….
The fishing side was tough out there……we covered a lot of miles checking out the best water in a sea of a lot of green/blue off-colored water, looking for the ‘bite’ when sometimes it’s better to dig in the heels…
Reading working on a sail
A great time was had all the same and a wonderful Thanksgiving down at the Lodge…
GULATI FAMILY
November 17-19 we welcomed Jack Gulati with grandsons Casey and Brett Gulati. Good fishing for the crew with plenty of sailfish biting strong off the teasers and on the western side of the pocket there was a good blue marlin bite.
Brett with one of many for the trip
And Casey with his first sail, big fish first up
The boys were more interested in marlin so we worked the side of the pocket in the hunt for blues. Meanwhile there was an excellent sailfish bite out wide as well. Nice to have options. We raised 9 blues in 3 days and lots of mahi’s to keep the boys occupied in between.
And averaged 18 sails in the spread per day in the blue marlin hole…..Good fishing.
Brett and Casey did an awesome job on the rod and were pretty handy on the camera as well….
Jack got in on it and caught his fair share as well.
78th ILTTA
November 12-13 and 15-16 Club Nautico de Guatemala hosted the 78th ILTTA. We were proud to sponsor the event and host the dinner and Casino party on the night of the 13th..
A successful Tournament all round with a good sailfish bite and plenty of blue marlin in the mix for all the boats. There were 870+ billfish released over the 4 days of fishing between the 24 teams representing 9 countries.
On ALLURE II we were out of the running in the boat event though we did get into the fish with a tournament total of 43 releases from 74 bites. We also raised 8 blue marlin though a bit tough getting some of the fish switching to the tournament regulation ballyhoo baits on 20lb test. We managed to release 2 from 3 bites on blues having to break one off going over the 20min max fish time.
Click on the link. Rob Krammer getting the release on 20lb test on this feisty blue marlin. Awesome event, Congrats to all involved especially Team Puerto Rico winning the team event, Jorge Sinabaldi winning top angler and Maverick who took out top boat honors!!
