KYLE’S BACHELOR PACHANGA

Just had this lot through the Lodge for 4 nights and 3 days on the water aboard x 2 boats. What a blast, plenty of laughs and good fishing to boot with 56 sailfish released, several mahi and even a couple of tuna in the bin. What a great time, looking fwd to seeing these guys back at the Lodge!!

TEAM RUAKĀKĀ, NEW ZEALAND

Super bueno to host these fellow Kiwi’s for a few nights and x 2 days o the water, they all got into sailfish, a few mahi’s and we concentrated on blue marlin their second day out raising 5 blues and getting 3 bites!!

BOBBY, CAROL & COURTNEY

4 days on the water mixing it up chasing tuna, billfish on conventional and on the fly, hunting marlin…..great ratio’s for this team with 31 from 42 bites on sailfish, 1 from 3 bites on the fly, and what a fish that was. Also raised 3 blues with Courtney releasing her first blue marlin and sailfish on the fly for a trip to remember! Several tuna and mahi in the bin as well!

MANER FATHERS DAY WEEKEND

A pleasure hosting the Maner boys who took their Dad Rex for Fathers Day weekend, and what a weekend! They ended up releasing 8 sailfish from 20 shots, several mahi in the bin and even a small lunch sized wahoo! The highlight was spending several hours hauling in large yellowfin tunas!!

CAMP DAD!!

Instead of Summer Camp 11 yr old Jay and 9 yr old Owen chose ‘Camp Dad’ with Jimmy which included 2 days of fishing aboard Allure II, hiking Volcan Pacaya, a few days in Spanish Colonial City Antigua and time at Lake Atitlan. But what a blast we had fishing these boys on the boat. They released 29 sailfish between them with 26 off the teasers pitching baits with the 4’6″ rods and the Avet SX reel. They even let dad, Jimmy release one on the fly and one on conventional, on top of that there were several mahi’s and a tuna boated. An excellent 2 days on the water with young Jay pitching baits to and hooking fish on his own.

TEAM MIDLAND

Good to see John and John back, this time introducing Paul to what we have here in Guatemala. An easy trip to excellent service, accomodations, comfortable boat with incredible fishing! These guys went all in starting with a 35% hook up ratio after day 1 and finishing with a 75% ratio on the circle hooks. Good to see! Our last day out, targeting tunas, we found a hot sailfish bite, they were snapping, we raised 24 in the last hour and half of the day getting 23 bites all off the teasers. A top way to finish an excellent trip!

DUHE GROUP

It was special having 3 generations of Duhe with us, Bruce, Jason and Jennings along with their good friend Roman. Congratulations to young Jennings who released his first sailfish! We released a handful and on the second day raised 3 blue marlin releasing 2 from 2 bites. One tough fish on the 30lb line for Roman!

That’s June fishing here in Guatemala! A good mix of species, the sailfish bite has been steady, the blues haven’t shown up in the numbers we’re accustomed to by this time of year through we’re picking that to change come July and into August. We have some prime dates available in August! The marlin bite will be in full swing, sailfish, big tunas and mahi’s. A fantastic time of year!
