Sailfish Oasis makes Guatemala’s world-class sailfish and blue marlin fisheries accessible to anglers from around the world. We’ve been doing so since 2009.
When you think Sailfish Oasis, it is likely the yellow hull of the Allure II that comes to mind. And with good reason.

And yes, this is our flagship vessel and we’ve had many incredible days fishing aboard it. But Sailfish Oasis Lodge has a guest capacity of 20 and we regularly fish groups aboard two, three, four or five boats.
In fact, some of our longest-standing lodge traditions involve arranging multiple boat trips for big groups who return to fish with us year after year. What follows is a breakdown of our multi-boat packages, how they work, and what you can expect when booking one.
Booking a Multi-Boat Trip is Simple
Check our Allure II availability calendar. Find a spot that is open and that matches your availability. Give us a call with the number of anglers and how many anglers you’d like to fish per boat.
If you’d like to select the other boats, we have the options listed online. On the other hand, we can make suggestions as to which will work best for your situation.
Once we have your details, we contact the operators and make the arrangements. You and your folks show up in Guatemala, and we handle everything. The process is just as easy and just as seamless, whether you’re fishing the Allure II or the Allure II and four other boats.
The Fleet
Guatemala is home to a long, proud sportfishing tradition. The world’s best volume billfish fishery has been attracting captains and crews from around the world since the late 1980s.
Our guys—Capt. Chris “Kiwi” van Leeuwen and Capt. Jono Nicholas—hail from New Zealand and Kenya, respectively. The fleet here is not only geographically diverse, but exceptionally qualified and collaborative. Boats and operators work together not just in terms of sharing information on where the fish are, but they’re also an incredible resource when it comes to fishing larger groups.

Working with boats and captains like Kennedy Hernandez on the Prime Hook offer many advantages. Access to boats like the Captain Hook, the Tranquility, the Libertad, and the Uno Mas allow us to expand our fishing capacity while maintaining the standard of quality and guest experience for which we are known.
This approach offers a number of advantages:

1. Sailfish Oasis is always boutique and curated.
Anytime you come to Sailfish Oasis, your stay is designed to cater to the experience that you are after. If your group is three or four anglers, you’ll fish with us on the Allure II. If you bring down a larger group, we’ll make the arrangements to fish additional boats as needed.
Whether you come down by yourself or 19 of your buddies, you and your group are the star of the show. Every time. Our focus is always delivering the type of experience that you are after.
When you’re fishing with us, you’re one of one. Not one of many.

2. Book with us. Fish with us. Stay with us. We’ll take care of all of the arrangements.
There’s quite a bit that goes into consistently delivering trips that combine great fishing and wonderful guest experience. Our small, dedicated team has been doing this for a long time and is very good at it.
Whether your group is three anglers or 20, when you come to Sailfish Oasis we’ll handle everything. You’ll stay with us, eat with us. We’ll take you to and from the airport and back and forth from the marina and to the boat each day.
LET’S GO FISHING. GIVE US A CALL.
We are very particular about who our clients fish with. We can’t guarantee how many sailfish you’ll release, but you can count on a great experience on every boat, every time.
3. We’re a Boutique Lodge with Added Capacity: Not a Large Operation that churns through big, multi-party groups.
Every operation has its niche. And there is certainly something to be said for places that handle larger guest volumes than we do. But this is not, and never will be, Sailfish Oasis.
We’ve made a conscious choice in how we’ve created our team and how we deploy our resources. Our approach involves taking especially good care of —and attending to all of the details as they relate to—a smaller, more select group of clients.
We work with boats that provide the same standard of experience that our guests have come to know and expect. This means added capacity without detracting from the core of who and what we are.
What This Means For You
Our combination of boutique experience and multi-boat capacity has created some unique traditions at Sailfish Oasis. For the past 15 years, we’ve hosted a group from Texas who comes down each year to fish with us over the Super Bowl.

These guys are awesome. The Super Bowl Group has caught hundreds and hundreds of fish with us. Part tournament, all fun. It’s become a tradition we look forward to every year.
Our lodge record for sailfish releases on a trip was also set by a group fishing four boats. Over three days on four boats, plus one boat fishing one extra day, they released an incredible 520 sailfish. Our guests hooked these fish themselves and it was incredible.

We’ve arranged multiple boat trips for corporate groups, bunches of friends who want to throw informal tournaments, and fishing crews who come down together. We can do this for anyone, most any time, who travels down with more than five or six.
It’s a great excuse to invite some friends to come down with you. Guatemala is a wonderful place to introduce folks to what offshore fishing is all about, and we’d like fishing with all types of people—kids, older anglers, those who have caught 200 billfish, and those who want to catch their first (through their 30th).
This allows groups to separate, concentrating on fly fishing, specifically targeting blue marlin, or however anglers choose. It’s also a great excuse to make a wager on which boat is going to catch more or bigger fish.
So, whether it’s you and your favorite fishing buddy or 19 of your favorite fishing buddies, we’d love to take you fishing. Come down, let us take care of the details, and experience all that Guatemala has to offer.
