The Sailfish Oasis experience is intimate and curated. From the time you land and clear customs in Guatemala City, our small, dedicated, professional team sees to the finer points and all of the details of every aspect of your trip.
Captain Chris “Kiwi” and Liz van Leeuwen own Sailfish Oasis. The van Leeuwens have owned and operated the lodge since 2009.
Captain Jon Nicholas is the primary captain of the Allure II. A native of Kenya, Jono has made a career of running boats in many of the world’s best blue water fisheries—Guatemala, Madeira, Spain and more.
Sailfish Oasis provides the complete Guatemala experience in a way that is boutique, curated, and makes you the star of the show.
Chef Carlos has been heading our culinary operation since 2010. Laura is our manager and is coming into her 3rd year with us. Deisi and Claudia—our hospitality team—have been with us since 2012.
Andres, the gardener responsible for our beautiful grounds, has been here since 2010. Saul has been in charge of the bar for four years.
Our team is small and dedicated. Most have been with us for a long time. This is not by accident.
