JOHNSON BACHELOR BASH

Todd Johnson organised this trip down for his son John David and his buddies for his Despedida de Soltero party. Good times and hot action over their 2 days on the water fishing from 3 boats!! 137 releases from 253 bites and 2 from 2 bites on the fly!
KEVIN & CHIRSTINA, JOHN & DEBORRAH

2 days on the water for the couples, plenty of action with 38 releases from 78 bites and a night at Casa Santa Domingo in Antigua to finish off….
BUMPUS GROUP

It has been a few years in the planing so it was great to see Rob Bumpus and his group down here for their first trip to Guate with the fishing hot! 2 days on the water produced 39 releases from 76 bites!
ANDREY & ANNA

All the way from Russia via Cypress, great to have this couple taking time out of their Guatemalan tour with 2 days on the water. Plenty of sea life with whales, porpoise and billfish action galore. 48 sailfish released from 65 bites and sore arms to boot…
JAMES AND CHRISTINA

For another first time trip to the Oasis and Guatemala James and Christina spent 3 days fishing and a day sightseeing in Antigua. The perfect trip! Crazy good fishing as well with 59 sailfish from 93 bites, good averages seeing they were hooking their own, and 1 blue marlin of about 250lbs. Congratulations to them both and we’re happy for the staff to receive recognition for all the hard work they do. Thanks James!

SUPER BOWL 2025

So good to see the Port Aransas/Corpus Christi Crew back down for Super Bowl weekend. 14 years and counting!! This was the first year without our good mate Colin Ocker in the ranks, not physically at least. He was def with the crew in spirit….what a weekend. 209 sailfish released from 374 bites between 4 boats over 3 days. Over 100 of those coming in on the last day. Todo Bien!!!
BONIN GROUP

First time down to the Oasis and fishing in Guatemalan waters, the Bonin Crew in from Louisiana jumped in the deep end with some aggressive sailfish bites off the teasers. Only way to learn though right. 42 from 107 bites over 3 days as well as a blue marlin in the spread.
JASEN GAST ‘NO SANCOCHO’ GROUP

Jasen was back down for his 13th year in a row with us. Fishing for the Rehab ‘No Sancocho Hall of Shame Trophy’. A few ‘sancochos’ for the group this year….58 sailfish from 128 bites along with 1 striped marlin for teenager Ethan from 2 bites and a few mahi mahi in the mix. The trophy this year was shared amongst 3 sancochoingly good anglers. It was also good to see young Jay got in on a couple of sailfish releases and a nice mahi!
SISSA GROUP

For their 9th straight year in a row, the infamous ‘Sissa’ Group pushed the boundaries this year buying the Lodge a cock….don’t ask, but we had a great caldo de gallo. The fishing was steady with 78 from 114 bites, pretty good averages, they were on it their last day out. They also pulled the hook on a striped marlin and a blue marlin, unlucky! Looking fwd to the 10 yr anniversary.
CARLOS & CHRIS

Father and son from Mexico City, a trip to Guatemala’s famous fishery before Chris heads off to work in NY. What a trip, their first day out produced 36 sailfish releases. Day 2 they requested to head offshore to hunt for the tunas, spinners were found though no luck on the tunas. 38 from 52 bites 0n sailfish and 4 large mahi!
STEVE, BRYAN & ISLE

Nothing short of incredible fishing right here for these 3 anglers. Capt Jono put them on the fish and day 2 produced 107 sailfish bites alone!!! Things got a bit too hectic out there with multiple sancocho’s. 80 sails from 195 bites over 3 days! Also 1 from 2 bites on striped marlin and a 40lb mahi in the bin. Crazy good!!
JAY & IRA

Our favourite couple to fish with….and the lucky Stuckey blue marlin charm held firm. Day one they decided to head to Antigua leaving them with 2 days on the water resulting in 35 from 50 on sailfish and 1 from 2 on blue marlin, the 2nd blue pulling the hook after 45 mins and just a few yards from the release…..ouch. Great averages though, including a personal for Jay first day 18 from 20 bites on sails and 1-1 on blues!
TOMMY & SHELLY with LARRY & JANE

These 2 couples had an awesome time. 2 days of fishing with a coupe of tuna boated, 2 blue marlin in the spread including one stonker of a fish and 16 from 29 bites on sailfish. Bienvenidos a Guatemala….
On February 8th the Guatemalan Sport Fishing Community paid tribute to David Salazar with a Boat Rodeo. Wreath’s were laid and words were spoken over the radio in memory of a true Guatemalan legend. Dave has been a part of the fishing community here since 1997 and will be sorely missed by many people. Our hearts go out to Kristen and the girls. He will be well remembered.

Hasta la proxima David!

Well, what an incredible late January and February of fishing here in Guatemala. Numbers that remind us of 2016, truly remarkable fishing! It is still going on out there, today boats were raising over 70 sailfish a piece. Crazy, and this good fishing will go on, take our word for it. We have some prime dates available right now for March! Don’t miss out on this bite. April is booked up, in May we have some dates available, June is looking full already and July is starting to fill up. This fishing will be good all year. Get down and experience it!

WHAT A DAY!!!

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I
find this topic to be really something that I think
I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely
broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

Okay, tried chickenroadtez888… it’s a bit quirky, but I kinda dig it. The gameplay is unique, and it’s a good way to kill some time. Not my absolute favorite, but worth checking out if you’re looking for something different. Here’s the link: chickenroadtez888

What a season it was! The 9 sailfish from 12 bites plus a blue marlin on the last day is the kind of finale every angler dreams of. Thanks for sharing this recap—it really captures the excitement and camaraderie at Sailfish Oasis. I’m already looking forward to hearing about the 2027 plans. The way you keep the stoke alive between seasons is part of what makes this community so special. By the way, if anyone wants to create some custom artwork or social media graphics to commemorate their own catches, I recently came across a fun tool for generating fishing-themed images: gemini generador de imagenes. It’s a nice way to keep the memories going long after the lines are reeled in. Here’s to another epic year on the water! Tight lines.
What a season it was! The final week sounds like the perfect send-off—nine sailfish from twelve bites plus a blue marlin is the kind of day anglers dream about. It’s great to see the 2026 season end on such a high note, and it definitely sets the stage for an exciting year ahead. We’re already looking at dates for next season, and posts like this make the anticipation even harder to wait through. For anyone planning their own trip, I also found some useful planning tips and gear checklists on this site: gothic remake lockpicking website. It’s been a helpful resource while getting our tackle and travel organized. Thanks for sharing the recap—congratulations to the whole Sailfish Oasis crew on a fantastic wrap-up!
