SUMMER FISHING THROUGH JUNE!

ROHMER FAMILY

First timers to Guatemala from North Texas it was great to host the Rohmer family. With young Mia and Melody holding the fort back at the Lodge the rest of the family experienced some great weather and special fishing

A great mixed bag with 12 tunas boated and 5 large mahi to 30lb.

And the sailfish bite was pretty decent as well with 18 releases from 32 bites, a few multiples in the mix…

Massages back at the Lodge, a Foodie tour of Antigua and great fishing made for a memorable trip!

FRED, DAN, DAVID & JAY

This time last year we hosted these guys with blue skies, flat seas and consistent, good fishing. This year we had a tropical system park on top of us making conditions a bit tougher and the bite was also on that side.

Still, the guys made the most of it, we ‘tagged’ and released a solid 40lb wahoo with the gaff stick and boated 3 solid mahi mahi.

On the sailfish front they released 15 from 25 bites of the 27 raised..

And we raised 2 blue marlin with ‘Doc’ David getting the release on a tough fish out off the edge….click on the link to check it out:

Good times as always despite the weather!

TYLER, TREY & RUSS

Great to catch up with Russ for his 3rd year in a row with us, this time introducing sons Tyler and Trey to Guatemala and the team here at the Lodge and on the boat.

The goal for the team was tunas and mahi mahi. We found some good sailfish bites and raised a few marlin, though carried on covering ground hunting for the birds and spinners and the tunas.

We got into a few the first morning out though it was sparse from there on in with just one mahi boated and 3 tunas.

The sailfish bite was on in some areas and for the trip we raised 47 releasing 18 from 37 bites along with raising 3 blues with Tyler attached to a nice solid one for a while before it threw the hook…

DAVID & CINCO

Another father and son trip for first timers to Guatemala and the fishing did not disappoint!!

Two days on the water and the second day they were back in the pool by 2pm and they still raised 57 sailfish releasing 27 from 51 bites!!

The recent tropical weather systems seem to have stirred up the water some though it looks to be settling down and we’re hoping for a typical July, decent weather and good water bringing in the bait and pelagic’s. We’re booked through July 22nd though have July 23rd through 29th open and keen to get out there and make the most of this great time of year.

We’ve rigged up these beauties from Bonze Lures and the Submission has raised 4 blues so far with the Viper getting in on the sailfish action and raising a stripey as well.

We’re already getting bookings for the coming season so get in touch with us for dates from October on through into 2025, we’ll have the Lodge back up and running and the boats in the water after their annual maintenance by October. Don’t miss out! This past season has been nothing short of spectacular fishing and we’re expecting more the same….
